Ernestine's Story
Ernestine had lived with hearing loss for years. She missed conversations, withdrew from social events, and often felt cut off from the world around her. Like many people, she wanted help but the cost put hearing care out of reach.
At our Gift of Hearing event, everything changed. During her evaluation, Ernestine shared how much she missed hearing her family clearly… When she put on her new hearing aids for the first time, she smiled. Then she laughed. Then she began talking to the volunteers around her, amazed at how clearly she could hear the voices in the room.
That moment captured exactly why our foundation exists. It was connection restored. Confidence returning. A person finally able to participate fully in her own life again. She left with more than sound. She left with possibility.

Our volunteers are the backbone of every clinic event, helping us deliver hearing aids and audiological care through the Live Better Foundation. Audiologists, students, support staff, and community members all collaborate to deliver life-changing care.

Have Hearing Aids You No Longer Use?
Donate them through our Hearing Aid Recycling Program. Used devices may be refurbished for another patient, used for parts, or responsibly recycled — wherever they can do the most good.
Cover the Fee for Someone
Give Someone the Gift of Hearing
Hearing aids normally cost $2,000–$7,000 at retail. Our program provides them to approved applicants without that cost. Patients pay only a small processing fee — $150 for one hearing aid or $300 for a pair. For those who cannot afford even that, your donation covers it entirely.
$150 sponsors one application. $300 sponsors a pair.
Cover a Patient's Fee
$150 sponsors the processing fee for one hearing aid. $300 covers a pair. Every dollar goes directly toward a patient who cannot afford the fee on their own.
